Run the Great Scottish Run and Support Encephalitis International

The AJ Bell Great Scottish Run is a celebration of everything that is great about Glasgow: inspiring urban architecture, green spaces, history, music, strength, spirit and, of course, great people, personality and humour.

Half marathon runners: you’ve got a city-centre start and finish, with runners setting off from George Square and crossing the finish line at Glasgow Green. Over the 13.1 miles in between, expect a tale of two cities: an urban first half, followed by six miles of parkland and riverside running. You’ll do most of the route on tarmac but there are some sections on grass.

Tackling the 10k? You’ve got the same start and finish point but your route misses the park section, making it more urban and all on tarmac. However, what you lose in green space you gain in bridges – four bridges, to be precise – and a lovely long riverside final stretch.

  • Distance: 10km or half marathon options
  • Location: Glasgow, UK

Glasgow’s locals will keep your spirits and motivation up the whole way round, with crowds lining the route to cheer you on.
