Viral Brain Infections Group
The University of Liverpool's Viral Brain Infections Group is a small multidisciplinary
team of clinicians and basic scientists, headed by Dr Tom Solomon, based in the
Divisions of Neurological Science and Medical Microbiology and the School of Tropical
Medicine with overseas field stations and strong international collaborations.
The group studies viral central nervous system (CNS) infections of major global
importance including Japanese encephalitis, West Nile virus and Enterovirus 71.
It is also involved in education, public health policy and implementation.
